7to1 LAB hosts Hotel Montefiore
Barak Hasson, the esteemed chef of the Hotel Montefiore, one of Tel Aviv's oldest and most beloved culinary institutions for 17 years, is venturing out for the first time and is hosting the 7:1 Cocktail Lab in Neve Tzedek for two meals that revolve around France and Japan (Monday-Tuesday, February 24-25). The tasting meal will include six bite-sized courses (5 + dessert) for NIS 350 per couple and will be accompanied by a pairing of champagne and sake-based gastronomic cocktails, specially concocted for the meal by the 7:1 team. Recently, the R2M team went on a fascinating culinary journey to Japan. They returned from it full of inspiration and creative joy. "The tasting meal I will serve at 7:1 will consist of six bite-sized dishes, which bring to life the two cuisines I love most in the world - French and Japanese. These are two cuisines with a tradition and romance that involve cooking processes and techniques. It's not for nothing that the Japanese admire French cooking and the French incorporate many Japanese elements into their cooking. The combination of cuisines is very present in the culinary scenes of both countries; each cuisine takes it to its own place - it's delicious and fascinating." Inspired by the trip to Japan, Hasson's meal will combine the two cuisines - 2 Japanese bites, 2 French bites and one bite that combines these two excellent cuisines. The 5 cocktails that will accompany the meal will also speak fluent Japanese-French and will be based on champagne and sake.
