About Us

Restaurant the ARTIST was founded in 2012 by husband and wife Paul and Mihaela Oppenkamp, both of them with extended experience in the hospitality industry and having spent over 12 years traveling around the world gaining knowledge and understanding of food and service practices that are now put to use daily in the restaurant. Paul, originally from Hoorn, The Netherlands, is the creator of the cuisine served in the restaurant, while Mihaela, originally from Bucharest, ensures a smooth front of house and administrative operation. The name of the restaurant was chosen to ensure a continuous development of its concept and never stop to create new dishes and experiences for our guests, growing towards a very fine designed cuisine and crafted style of Chef Paul Oppenkamp. Over the years we have created our own identity sticking true to our mission statement ‘Inspired by world cuisine, influenced by Romanian seasons, driven by innovation, our culinary journey is the path of creativity’.
